AOI · The Founder
Johny Dar
Multidisciplinary creator, inventor and entrepreneur — and the creator of AOI, the Art of Implosion. His work has moved between art, fashion, design, music and technology, and is known for building ideas that connect creativity with innovation.
He founded the global brand Dar Lin and scaled it to over 1,300 stores worldwide, with showrooms and distribution across Europe, India, China and the Americas. Through that work and his collaborations, he built an international network spanning art, fashion, wellness and technology.
AOI came out of more than ten years of research and experimentation into the effects of light and sound frequency, and launched in Berlin, Costa Rica, Ibiza and Dubai. The work now extends into wellness experiences, performance technology and functional products, including Black Gold Coffee.
AOI is a light-and-sound environment, not a treatment. Research on the individual components is not evidence for the whole system, and observational data shows association, not causation — what the evidence does and does not support is set out on the science page. AOI is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease.

“AOI — Art of Implosion — began as a simple observation: modern life trains our attention outward, and very little in a normal day invites us back in.”
The maker
AOI was not developed within a single discipline.
Johny Dar studied art, fashion, industrial design, architecture, music, philosophy, meditation, movement, psychology and human behaviour. AOI did not come out of any one of those fields. It came out of the space between them.
Alongside those disciplines he immersed himself in healing traditions from around the world, learning directly from practitioners — meditation, traditional bodywork, Reiki, Shiatsu, Watsu, acupuncture and indigenous practices, together with teachings from Tibet, India, China, Thailand, Japan and Native American communities. Western anatomy, physiology and medicine ran alongside all of it.
Rather than treating these as competing systems, he asked a different question: what if each is describing the same human being from a different perspective? Looking for the principles they share, instead of choosing between them, became one of the philosophical foundations of AOI.
The work
What the work has produced.
Dar Lin
The global brand he founded and scaled to over 1,300 stores worldwide — Barneys, Bloomingdale's and Anthropologie among them — with showrooms and distribution across Europe, India, China and the Americas.
AOI — Art of Implosion
The Light Chamber and the philosophy around it: light, sound, frequency and space working together in one dedicated environment, launched in Berlin, Costa Rica, Ibiza and Dubai.
Liquid Gold
The composition made specifically for the AOI experience, and the first program within DETOX 1 — built in tracks that run to a full composition of roughly 56 minutes.
Black Gold Coffee
One of the functional products the work now extends into, alongside wellness experiences and performance technology.
IQ-ME Art Therapy
Part of the wider AOI ecosystem: a way of externalising and observing your own experience after a session. No artistic ability is required — the point is not to make beautiful work, but to have another medium in which experience can be looked at.
Reoccupy Your Body
His own movement practice, developed over years of observation and later the basis of the Reoccupy Your Body training. The intention was not simply to strengthen muscles but to improve the coordination between posture, fascia, connective tissue, movement patterns and body awareness. It is his own work and personal observation, not established scientific consensus.

The clearest way to understand AOI is to spend a session inside it.
