Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data aoiartofimplosion.com (“the Website”) collects, why, who receives it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It is written to meet the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), because AOI operates centres in the European Union and is a company registered in California.
Effective date: 3 September 2026.
1
Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data is AOI ART OF IMPLOSION LLC, 3400 Cottage Way Ste G2, Sacramento, CA 95825, USA. For anything in this policy, or to exercise your rights, write to jw@johnydar.com.

What we collect, and when
When you send an enquiry, a partnership request or an application through the Website, we collect what you type into the form: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, where you are based, your company where relevant, your message, and — for the Reoccupy Your Body training — where you did your AOI sessions and your confirmation that you have completed at least ten of them. Every field is optional except the ones marked as required.
If you join the newsletter, we collect your email address. If you contact a centre on WhatsApp or by email using a link on the Website, that conversation happens outside the Website, under the terms and privacy policy of that service.
When you visit, our hosting provider records technical information that any web server records — your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time — in short-lived logs used for security and to keep the service running. The Website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, does not build profiles, and does not sell or share personal information for advertising. The only thing it stores in your browser is a single session value that lets a page reload itself once after a site update; it identifies nothing and expires when you close the tab. Where a page embeds a video from a third-party platform such as YouTube, that platform may set its own cookies when you play it, under its own policy.
3
Why we use it, and on what basis
To answer your enquiry, assess a partnership request or review an application, and to take the steps you ask for before any agreement: this is necessary to respond to your request (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and is in our legitimate interest in running the business (Article 6(1)(f)).
To send you the newsletter, only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time using the link in every email or by writing to us.
To keep the Website secure and available, in our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).
We do not use your data for automated decision-making. An application to the Reoccupy Your Body training is reviewed by a person.
4
Who receives it
Form submissions are delivered to AOI through a form-processing service that receives the submission and passes it to us; where no such service is configured, the form opens an email on your own device instead, and nothing is stored on the Website. The Website is hosted by Vercel Inc., whose servers are located in the United States and on a global edge network. We share data with these providers only as processors, under contracts that limit them to acting on our instructions.
Where an enquiry concerns a specific centre, we may pass it to the team running that centre — in Dubai, Ibiza, Berlin or Costa Rica — so they can reply. Links to WhatsApp (Meta Platforms), Google Maps (Google) and Instagram (Meta Platforms) take you to those services, which process your data under their own policies.
We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our clients or the public.
5
International transfers
AOI ART OF IMPLOSION LLC is established in the United States, so data you provide from the European Union, the United Kingdom or elsewhere is transferred to and processed in the United States. Where the GDPR requires it, those transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum), or on a provider's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards in place.
6
How long we keep it
Enquiries, partnership requests and applications are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, so we can follow up and answer later questions, unless a booking, ownership or partnership relationship continues, in which case we keep them for the life of that relationship and for as long afterwards as the law requires. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a short period and then deleted.
7
Your rights under the GDPR
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you have given, without affecting what was done before. To exercise any of these rights, write to jw@johnydar.com; we will respond within one month.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority — for Berlin, the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit; for Ibiza, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos; for the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office — or to the authority where you live.
8
Your rights under the CCPA
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to request its deletion; to correct inaccurate information; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. To make a request, write to jw@johnydar.com; we will verify your identity by confirming details you gave us and respond within 45 days. You may authorise an agent to make a request on your behalf.
9
Children
The Website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us data, write to us and we will delete it.
10
Security
The Website is served over HTTPS, form submissions travel encrypted to our providers, and access to the data is limited to the people who need it to reply to you. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take it seriously.
11
Changes
We may update this policy as the Website or the law changes. The effective date at the top tells you when it was last revised; a material change will be shown on the Website before it takes effect.
