AOI · The Method
The Method
The AOI process is designed as a progressive journey of observation, integration and self-awareness. Its underlying principle is that human experience is processed through several interconnected layers — thoughts, emotions, bodily signals, memories, learned patterns and different expressions of personality may all read the same situation differently.
The objective is not to eliminate those perspectives. It is to bring them gradually into communication under a more unified Observer: the point of awareness capable of noticing the different signals without automatically identifying with any one of them, or reacting to it.
The structured journey set out below is written for people using an AOI system regularly, which in practice usually means owners. If you are visiting a studio, there is no session count to keep — come as often as suits you, and read this as the thinking behind the room rather than a schedule to complete.
The architecture
The ten layers.
Mind
The cognitive dimension: interpretation, thought, analysis, prediction, memory, and the stories through which experience is understood. Sessions 1, 11, 21, 31 and onward.
Heart
The emotional and relational dimension: feelings, emotional significance, connection, and the way experiences are felt through the body. Sessions 2, 12, 22, 32 and onward.
Gut
The instinctive and bodily dimension: internal signals associated with safety, trust, tension, attraction, avoidance and intuitive response. Sessions 3, 13, 23, 33 and onward.
Conscious
What can currently be noticed, examined and deliberately chosen. Sessions 4, 14, 24, 34 and onward.
Subconscious
Learned associations, habits, expectations and automatic patterns that influence behaviour without continuously occupying conscious attention. Sessions 5, 15, 25, 35 and onward.
Unconscious
Deeper processes, memories, impulses and patterns that may influence experience without being immediately accessible to conscious inspection. Sessions 6, 16, 26, 36 and onward.
Public Personality
The version of the self presented to the outside world: professional identity, social behaviour, reputation, the personality the wider environment meets. Sessions 7, 17, 27, 37 and onward.
Private Personality
The self expressed with trusted people and in private life, where social performance and external expectation may be reduced. Sessions 8, 18, 28, 38 and onward.
Secret Personality
The most hidden aspects of the self: private desires, fears, dreams, shame, contradictions, parts that may not yet be fully acknowledged. Sessions 9, 19, 29, 39 and onward.
Overall Absorber / Integration
The integration point of the cycle. This stage does not focus on a single dimension. It draws the preceding observations together, supporting one point of observation where no internal signal automatically dominates the response. Sessions 10, 20, 30, 40 and onward.
The cycle
Ten sessions make one pass.
Every ten AOI sessions form one complete cycle: Mind, Heart, Gut, Conscious, Subconscious, Unconscious, Public Personality, Private Personality, Secret Personality, then Overall Absorber and integration. Sessions 1 to 10 are the first cycle, 11 to 20 the second, 21 to 30 the third.
The next ten revisit the same architecture at another level. The intention is not simply repetition — each return to a dimension is another opportunity to observe how that aspect of a person processes experience. Across a hundred sessions, Mind is met at 1, 11, 21, 31 and on; Heart at 2, 12, 22, 32.
Mind, heart and gut should not be understood as three literally independent command centres. They are interconnected aspects of one living system and three useful perspectives. Conscious, subconscious and unconscious are used here as different depths of one experience rather than fixed anatomical compartments.
Milestones
Ten, one hundred, three hundred.
One complete cycle
One full passage through the ten-layer architecture — the introductory process, and the first milestone in the manual. Every dimension has been met once.
Continued repetition
The next milestone band, described in the manual simply as continued repetition and observation. The same ten dimensions come round again, with no requirement that any one session produce a noticeable result.
Maternal inheritance
Ten complete cycles through the ten layers. Within Johny Dar's framework, this first hundred explores patterns associated with the maternal line: inherited biology, early environment, learning, and a mother's perception of life.
Paternal inheritance
The second hundred explores the paternal line. Human beings biologically inherit 23 chromosomes from each parent, but the pairing of these cycles with maternal and paternal chromosomes belongs to Johny Dar's conceptual model — it is not a claim that AOI processes individual chromosomes, modifies DNA, or removes experiences encoded within it.
The individual self
The third hundred shifts the emphasis to a person's own story: what belongs to me, what do I consciously choose, which patterns no longer need to determine my response, who am I becoming. For those undertaking the full intensive journey, Johny recommends approximately 300 sessions within about a year.
What follows
The manual asks that the first 300 be read as a journey and not a race: no session has to be profound, and none has to feel good. Once that journey is complete, continued work with more advanced AOI programs may be recommended within the methodology.
From session 11
Directing the cycle.
Once AOI is familiar, an owner may choose to point the ten-session cycle towards a more specific intention. The structure of the cycle stays exactly as it is — what changes is the program selected for each session, from session 11 onward.
In the manual's layout, the chosen focus program sits on Mind, Conscious and Public Personality; Liquid Gold sits on Heart, Subconscious, Private Personality and the integration session; and a sound composition for mental fatigue sits on Gut, Unconscious and Secret Personality. That composition's user-facing name is provisional and may change in future revisions.
Why repeat
A process, not a single experience.
A single session may produce relaxation, mental quiet, bodily sensations, emotional responses, memories, spontaneous insights, sleepiness — or no immediately noticeable response at all. Within the methodology, the absence of a dramatic experience does not mean the session was unsuccessful.
The case for repetition is that human patterns exist across several levels and may not become visible at the same time. The aim is not to force a particular result during any given session. It is to keep creating the conditions for observation and integration.
There is nothing to solve in the chamber. No requirement to analyse the past or hold a subject in mind for twenty minutes. Different sessions feel very different from one another, and observation is more important than expectation.

“Mind can provide information. Heart can provide information. Gut can provide information. The Observer receives these perspectives, and integration allows them to participate in the same moment.”
Time and emotion
The space between stimulus and response.
Johny describes AOI as interacting with a person's internal clock. Within his framework, different organs, psychological layers and dimensions of consciousness can be imagined as running on different internal timelines: past experience, present sensory information and predictions about the future all taking part in one response at once.
The intention of the process is to support greater synchronisation of those perspectives around the present moment and a shared point of observation. This is a conceptual description of the method, not a claim that different organs literally exist in different physical time zones.
Unresolved emotional material is described as one of the main obstacles to that. Past experience may shape perception, expectation, bodily response, relationships and automatic behaviour. The objective is not to erase the past; it is to become better at distinguishing what is happening now from what is being activated from before.
As that distinction becomes easier, the space between an incoming experience and the response that follows grows — and with it, within the framework, the capacity for conscious choice.
Important note
How to read all of this.
The ten AOI layers, the 100/200/300-session architecture, the maternal and paternal session cycles, the internal clock and the Overall Absorber represent the methodology and philosophy of the AOI system. They describe a framework for experience.
They should not be interpreted as established medical or biological mechanisms unless separately supported by appropriate scientific evidence. AOI is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease.
AOI should not be presented as a substitute for medical diagnosis, psychiatric care or evidence-based treatment where those are required. If you are under care for a medical or psychiatric condition, keep it, and speak to your clinician before beginning.
OBSERVE
Begin with one session.
The objective is not a person without emotions, memories or contradictions — it is the capacity to observe them without automatically becoming them.
