AOI · The Benefits

A session of synchronised light and sound, roughly fifteen minutes to an hour. What follows is individual — this page collects what participants report, and what our observational data has shown.

Reported, not promised

Twelve things people keep describing.

  • Quick settling

The day's tension drops away within the first minutes of a session.

  • Physical ease

Less held tension and a looser, more comfortable body, often noticed on standing up afterwards.

  • Reduced reactivity

The same stressors arriving without the same escalation, and a more even mood between them.

  • Better sleep

Falling asleep more easily, sleeping more deeply, and waking more rested the next morning.

  • Energy and vitality

More energy through the day, and over repeated sessions a stronger sense of vitality.

  • Emotional steadiness

Greater calm, and a sense of things settling on their own.

  • Mood and focus

A brighter mood and sharper, more alert attention in the hours after a session.

  • Motivation and stamina

Getting started more easily, staying with work longer, and feeling more effective day to day.

  • Mental clarity

A quieter mind, less mental overload, and thinking that feels clearer and better organised.

  • Skin and glow

Some people mention fresher-looking skin, hair and nails; a cosmetic observation, not a measured effect.

  • Lightness and presence

Leaving lighter, as if something had been set down, and more present afterwards.

  • Wider awareness

Some describe reconnecting with their intuition, a stronger alignment with life, and a sense of flow.

Reported by participants and by AOI over time — anecdotal observation, not clinical findings. AOI is not a medical device.

What is reported

Areas of reported change.

01

Physical

Across the observational WHOOP data collected so far, the most frequent patterns were improved recovery scores, higher heart rate variability, lower resting heart rate and better sleep. Not every measure moved, and not in every period. Observational findings show association, not cause.

02

Cognitive

Participants commonly describe a quieter mind, less mental overload, greater clarity and improved focus. These reports are subjective — but consistent enough across people that we have kept investigating what sits underneath them.

03

Emotional

Reduced emotional reactivity, greater calm, more resilience to stress, and over repeated sessions more subjective energy and body awareness. Reported areas of change, not guaranteed outcomes or established medical effects.

How to read this

Individual, and read in context.

There is no single universal AOI experience: deep relaxation, emotional responses, internal imagery, an altered sense of time, or very little at all are all ordinary places for a session to land, and none of them is a failed session.

Nor does every measure move. One participant's second block of five sessions fell below their own pre-AOI baseline, and another's first two next-mornings came back red — both sit on the research page alongside the improvements.

Recovery is also shaped by sleep, training load, alcohol, travel, illness and stress, so these observations are best read within the context of a whole life. AOI is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease.

In their words

Lighter, clearer, recharged.

I walked out lighter than I'd felt in months — calm, clear, and genuinely recharged.
